    Scrapping and clunking noise

Hi, hoping someone can help as I have had my 2012 ST Patrol into 4 different mechanics, and no one can help.

Randomly whilst drining I hear a scrapping noise (like a branch or something caught under the car near front passanger side), when I slow down to about 15KM/h, there is a clunk noise and the noise stops. really annoying. There is no movement in the tyre so not sure what the cause is???

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Jason

Sounds like the front left hub may be engaging. Check that the hubs are set to Auto on both sides. How often does this happen? when was teh last time you where in 4wd?

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Both Hubs are in auto. Last time un 4WD maybe 4-5 weeks ago.

It happens randomly. Sometimes 2-4 times a week, then will go for a week without happening at all.

Switch the auto hubs over from left to right and see if anything changes.
