From memory there are two styles. The original used a parallel bar circa 25mm, at least thats what was on my troopy, then they changed the design to a trailer stub axle design as it was a better system and didn't have seize up issues. What style do you have? Or are you looking to fab one yourself/
I have a bar on my Gq with a stub axle on it and some friends have there old swing always arms of there Gu I think it was a Gu just seeing if it would fit on mine

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.
The Kaymar bar on my Series 1 GU has Holden stub axles (LM bearings), but i believe later bars have Ford stub axles (SL bearings). Not sure when the change was made....
