    diff breathers

Hi once again everybody. Another question for you all. Do the diffs and/or gearbox run at a positive pressure? ie. are the breather valves "2 way" .. and at what pressure does the breather open if they are

Just hoses that are run standard as to a cross member for the rear and to the left front guard for the front.

They act as a snorkel so that when a hot gearbox or diff hits cold water it sucks in air not water.

    G’day Timbo mate!
To the best of my nuffy knowledge it’s a free venting system up as safely high possible:-)
Not too firewall high though as you’ll snap the diffusers off the Mrs truck when closing the bonnet :-)

I actually have the inlets on the firewall mounted pointing down so that no water can enter either from deep water, rain or spray washing the engine bay.

I thought there was some internal pressure as their is a spring in the valve itself. Thought it might have to do with keeping a positive pressure to help keep out water via the seals .. but if that's the case and it's free flowing then all is well :-)
