I’ve got a shed full of tools but this would have to be up there as one of the most useful.
Bought this over ten years ago for about $2. It’s got me out of trouble heaps of times and made life much easier.
I’ll always remember the day I heard that dreaded ‘ting’ as I pulled the rag out of the turbo input to reconnect the hose. Nearly put my neck out of joint looking for that elusive nut I’d idiotically left laying in the engine bay. Torches and a flexible USB camera couldn’t find it, had to get a lift home after dark and stressed all night.
A new day and a bit of poking about with my $2 special and the nut appeared, stuck between the engine block and the turbo. Didn’t fall into the opening after all, but was hiding behind it.
Maybe time to buy another, as it’s held together by tape these days.
