Dash lights wont turn on, ignition does nothing

Replacing the siren for the alarm in my 89 gq swb wagon and I cut the wires going to it (red and black). Car doors locked straight away and now there are no lights on the dash and the ignition does nothing (wont crank). Checked the ignition fuse next to battery which was fine as well as fuses under the dash next to the drivers door which were all fine. Interior light still works but all dash buttons don’t have power. Where do I go from here?
    Cheers in advance

did you cut both wires at the same time, ie shorting the voltage via the cutters, or individually? You may have to go thru some sort of 're boot' on the alarm, like total disconnect from battery perhaps?

Tricky thing those imobilisers. Have you tried putting the old siren back in? Potentially it does more than just make noise. Wouldn't be much of a security system if you could just cut the speaker off after all.

You may need to replace the whole setup rather than just part of it. Especially now you may have "tripped" a lock down and now have to either workout how to reset it, or bypass/replace it.

I did just cut straight through so I think I may have blew a fuse somewhere, dash and headlights turn on but new dash symbols come on with ignition. Im looking to just get rid of the alarm entirely so as long as I can get everything working again I will be a happy camper

I did reconnect the siren but I think it just goes straight to the security module anyway so I’m not sure which fuse it could of blown.

There may well be a 20A stand alone fuse near your alarm/imobiliser module. What brand is it?

Its a Black Widow module, I cant find the model number on it but it just has one big wiring harness going ito it and a relay next to switching the starter motor to the ignition

Trace all the wiring for the module and you should find where it is spliced into the ignition circuit. Or trace the ignition circuit to find the splice..

Unless the wire to the speaker carries a constant voltage it's unlikely(but not impossible) to be a fuse. My bet is that the unit has disabled itself/immobilized the car.

Alternatively, see if you can google the instruction manual for your specific model and see what it says.

Found the igniton wire this morning and got the engine to turn over but wouldn’t start then stopped. Cant get it to turn over again so I think a fuse blew somewhere, where would that be?
