Patrol l28 very high idle that won't return

Hello everybody I am new to the forum I recently bought a 1988 Patrol GQ with the six cylinder petrol l28 it only has 60000 miles and is in pretty good condition it hasn't been started in 15 years I put fresh oil in it clean spark plugs made up a fuel can petrol tank and she fired up straight away but it's idling very high about 2500 3000 rpm and the Idle does is not want to come back down I can't find any vacuum leaks any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated?

Head over to introductions and chuck a post up there while you wait for the experts to reply.

If it's been sitting that long sounds like a good start would be to pull the carby down and clean/rebuild it.
