Patrol 2012 ZD30 CRD Cylinder Head Installation

I am a little confused with the documentation which refers to an "O" ring between the front of the Cylinder Head and the Timing Case. I am replacing my cracked head with a new head, but can't say that I noticed an "O" ring when I removed it some months ago. Most of the documentation refers to the earlier non-CRD models.

Can somebody confirm whether the ZD30 CRD 2012 engine should have an "O" Ring. There are 6 such "O" rings in the gasket kit but none look suitable. I can see the hole in the gasket where it would go, but it doesn't really have a suitable place on the head. The timing case just doesn't look like it should have one.

    Any help appreciated.

Thanks for that - my Haynes workshop manual clearly shows the “O” ring but there is no corresponding hole in my timing case, although the gasket has a hole for where it would go. I am thinking the gasket is generic for both the non CRD and the CRD, but the CRD does not use the “O” Ring. Wish I had looked closer when I removed old head !
