New Member Intro
Hi, I'm Rod from NZ. Had a manual 95 GQ 4.2 T SWB for about 14 years ... never missed a beat. Reluctantly sold her 2 years ago and bought a new SR5 Hilux. Looking at selling this and getting either 1999 - 2000 4.2 TD or maybe a later model GU 3.0 Litre. Like most people I've heard bad stories about the 3.0 engine so have come here to see what I can find out. Looks like there's plenty of info here, thanks to all you guys who posted it. Have done a couple of outback trips over your way. spent 6 weeks going from Cairns to Cape York and another 6 weeks up in the Kimberly and Mitchell Plateau ... some of the best trips I've ever done ... impressive playground! Cheers.

Great lot here with tons of advice and adventures and experiences,
Hang around, ask away and jump in where ever you feel comfortable.
You talk about our playgrounds, you got some pretty impressive stuff over that way too.
Enjoy, Cheers Pete

Have to agree with Wild98 as I'm living over here in NZ, just wish my project wasn't a project so I could play in NZs playground. HEAPS of advice here which I've personally used a lot of LOL
Whoever disagrees with the saying "Might is right" obviously doesn't own a MQ
