    EGR block and engine light.

Hi all, I have 2012 CRD which I have done the EGR block thing. I was using a certain device that is supposed to prevent the engine light coming on. But that device caused intermittent almost 100% power loss. I live in country Victoria. Is there anywhere that I can take the car to have the engine computer tweaked to stop the light/error from happening? Cheers all.

You have two choices either use a scangauge or similar to clear the light and P0401 error on the rare occasions it happens OR drill a hole in the EGR block plate... there isn't a computer tweak that will stop it happening

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

I have a scan gauge and have been using that. But I was hoping that there was a permanent fix. Cheers, Brian.

A 6-10mm hole will trick the ICU into thinking the EGR is std
maybe disconnect the battery overnight if possible as well

@Coldcomfort - Get a remap/postal (mild tune_20-22psi boost, AFR 20-22:1). Turns EGR off, think you are running positive pressure actuator need to rework that for higher boost.

    Contact Harley Anderson:

Approx $790 posted, send him your ECU (2 week turnaround)

The scanguage will clear the code, which should be P401. The ECU will log a few to start with and then learn. Mine would be lucky to do it once every couple of months and only takes seconds to clear. I didnt put any holes in the plates.

Good idea to block both ends, as it can crack around the exhaust side, which has happened to quite a few people and leak. Blocking both ends prevents that. I do run a higher boost, but it's only at idle the code should appear.

Drilling a hole is a waste of time. It's like going to a brothel for a hug. Why bother at all then.
Block the thing completely, live with the engine light coming on once in a while and that's it. Its simple.

I have heard putting a resistor in the pink wire from the MAF will disable the fault code, anyone done this?
