Fuel Leak Under Rear Tank, 88 GQ
Morning All
Just got an 88 GQ Patrol and have found fuel leaking from under the rear fuel tank. All connections on top of the tank are not leaking. Seems to be near a bolt on the under side. Any ideas what is leaking and how i can fix it?

G'day mate. Might be a good idea to do an intro before jumpin in with questions, but i can see you may want to get onto this straight away. You have not said if diesel or petrol ar given any info at all, so I am not too sure what youmean by a bolt on the underside. Do you mean the underside of the tank? it might be a drain hold bolt and if so may be a simple as fitting a doudy washer, I think thats how you spell it, or a copper washer to seal the thread. It could be a crack where the bolt has been hitting the chassis or somthing. Really a bit hard to help with the lack of info. Good luck anyway.

Sorry mate, new to this sort of thing. I'm an apprentice plumber and live on the mid north coast of NSW. Im really getting into 4WDing and got this dual cab 88GQ, chopped and tray put on the back. Its a diesel 4.2 front and rear lockers with 6 inch lift. Goes pretty well just a few things of concern like the fuel leak I mentioned. You are correct it looks to be around what could be the drain hold bolt which goes directly into the tank. Thanks for your help, I can see the washer on it so I might try swapping it out for a new one and see if it stops the leak.
Thanks again
