Central Locking issue with Patrol GU from 2001

Hello,

My name is Andi, i am German and new to this forum I just bought a blue Patrol from 2001 that should accompany me on my tour through Austrlia.

I just noticed an issue with the central locking system and I would like to know if this is factory setting or custom.

I am only able to start the car when I unlocked it with the remote. I have a key to open the. At manually and start the engine/ignition and I have the remote control. But when I open the car with the key manually the alarm system turns on and I cannot start the car.

This can’t be normal. That’s why I could use some advice what to do about it. The remote control is in this case and IMHO a single point of failure and should just simplify opening the car. But it seems it is nessecary to actually start the car at the moment.

Hi mate, might be best to throw up a pic of the remote, sounds like you're car has an aftermarket immobiliser/alarm system
