Greetings and salutations =)
G'day fellow members...
I've just picked up an 88 Ford Maverick (which has been de-badged) Think it has the 4.2 litre straight 6 with a manual tranny (don't like autos much). Its extremely sluggish though, there is a fairly steep hill near me and I have to drop it into 3rd just to keep the momentum going.
She's running on 33:s and I need to put on some fender flares as the tyres stick outside of the body so I'll go get some from Clarke Rubber. She came with a beefy warn winch on a mad bullbar and the rear bar is awesome.
As for me I now live in Melbourne (near the airport) and my favorite sites to go wheeling are Toolangi, Lerderberg and Wombat.
This is approximately my 115th vehicle!
It doesn't seem to have a diff lock though?
How do you tell if you have an LSD?
Anyway 24 more posts and I can download the workshop manual, yippee.
Finally does anyone know where I can find the owners manual to download? I'm Scottish born and bred and you all know how tight we are haha so am looking for a freebie.
Cheers and awrabest
Dave

Hello and welcome to the forum.
As I lay there looking up, taking in the spectacular view that was the night sky and the multitude of stars I asked myself, where did my tent go?

I didn't get a notification that I had replies, I just happened to log on here and take a look-see so thanks to all for the greetings.
This is my 1st 4by of this particular make - I've had Land Rovers, Range Rovers, Pajeros, F100 4x4, F150 4x4, Chevy Blazer S10 and my favourite Bronco in the past.
However mine is so slow at acceleration I get overtaken by cyclists. It has a reco'd carb on her and was conking out all the time on me so I had a local garage look into the carby for me.
They fixed it ($150 ouch!!) and she runs nice now, just still so slow. I found out that it only has a 73l fuel tank as well.
They shaved the beards of our mothers with razors made of bronze,
they stole all our good LP's and ate all the potato scones.
It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.
