    Solar panel

    Hi so im going to buy a 160w solar panel tomorrow i have decided on the fold up portable type so i can plug it to both my cars but my question is with dual batterys do i clip it on to the main battery or the second battery that my fridge runs of? Thanks for any help

    Yep I agree definitely the auxiliary battery , I ran mine on the crank side of the dual battery solenoid and killed the crank battery , I do have panels permanently mounted though .

    I connect mine to my cranking battery, that way both batteries keep fully charged.

    Would be ok to connect to the crank if it's a temporary thing but if you have a hard mounted panel I'd go aux battery , I do have a switch to connect both sides if needed for winching or I have a flat crank battery and I do have two gel cel auxiliaries and the system now works fine .

    Depends on the Solar Panel Reg, the Batteries and the Vehicle BMS (if any) and if it is solely for camping... without knowing that info Aux is probably the best bet.
