    Speedo stopped working

    Hi all.

    As the title says.

I'm at a lost as where to start. Only thing I can think of is the gear, that's if these have one.

Check speedo gear / sensor on transfer case. Easiest to start with. Takes 5 minutes.

Yeah remove the sensor and see if the teeth on the gear are stripped. If you have a black gear, I have a spare one here you can have. Nissan have used different colour gears which denote how many teeth on the gear. They've have done something smart for a change....

Or shoot me your VIN. I can see what gear it is you have. But removing the sensor can literally be done in a single breath. Its that quick and simple.

Lol. I just realised. John's GU is auto. Some of the auto models use a different speedo driven gear setup to the manual trans.

His is manual mate. The physical setup is the same, or very similar between the manual and auto speed sensors, its more so the shape and size of the gear. I do know that some models use the same type of gear as the manual models though. But never figured out which ones it was. Ge me your VIN and I can find out.

    Cheers Mark.

I'm back at the hospital getting this wirst sorted out. I send it to you later, looks like I'm going to be here for a while..

I don't even know if the gear is the problem.
