    Replace battery in Hema HN6

My Patrolhad a HN6 GPS by Hema in it when I bought it. Worked okay for 12 months or so but then wouldn’t accept charge and when I looked at it I could see a bulge and assumed the battery was stuffed after years of sitting on the dashboard. Took it apart and as per photo the battery was stuffed!! Ordered a new one online for about $15 and today I soldered it in. Should have taken some photos but it was pretty easy and all I had to do was cut the connector off the new battery and then solder it in. All working and definitely worth the effort!!

Check where the power connects to the unit itself and make sure no slop in the connection , if the plug doesn't have a right hand bend find one from the likes of jaycar .
Hema use crap elcheapo cords and plugs in the 6 and 7 which causes intermittent charging , the 7 has a tiny charge light and if you look real close when driving it changes from green to red to green and battery failure follows shortly after .
Sending mine in to have all faulty ports and battery replaced then will get a charge cord that has the 90degree bend so less pressure on the port .
