Buying GU Patrol, maybe.
Ok, since my last post i have been given a definate price on a Patrol that i am interested in, any advice would be appreciated. It is a 98 Auto GU wagon 4.5 litre petrol which has done 159,000km's (correcting my last post) and has roof rack - JDM or something like that ? bull bar - dual batteries - side awning - rear drawer system - electric brakes and tow bar. It has new tyres all round and is in excellent condition inside and out, very few minor scratches in the paint. Originally it was supposed to have an Engel fridge but he is now keeping that and the slide it goes on. Bummer. Anyway, the price is $14,000 and not a cent less. what does everyone think ?? As i said it is in excellent condition and i will have it checked out by a 4x specialist before buying. I will be paying the extra to convert it to gas. Comments please.

If it's as good as you state, I'd be jumping on it immediately post the inspection - sounds like a great buy, and the k's are down also.
Good luck.

So much positive feedback but, i just found out that the Patrol won't fit under my garage with the roof rack on, what a bummer. So, that means no fridge and no roof rack and no awning either because it is attached to the roof rack. I can put the rack in the garage and use it on long trips but what a pain, and it limits the carry space in the Patrol because the camping drawers take up room at the back and i won't be able to carry any gear up top. I didn't realize things would get this complicated.

thats an easy fix mate.................. get a new house with a higher garage hahahahahahaha.
seriously though, I have the same trouble.......... a bit of a pain but the roof rack stays off until I need to use it............... doesn't really take that long to put on and take off.
