    Battery Indicator

    Hi All,

I have recently done an engine transplant with a mate.

    I had a TD42 in a GQ with a manual box.
I purchased a 2002 GU ZD30 with an auto box, and proceeded to take out the auto and the ZD.

I put in the TD42 and a manual box and am now in the process of addressing the wiring.

One issue I have encountered which I didn't think I would, is that the battery indicator light is always on.
I have checked the alternator, and it is charging, the plug from the ZD loom fits fine.

I have yet to plug in an ODB-II reader, but will look to do that in the next few days, but in the mean time, does anyone have any pointers on what to look for?

    I have the following working:
    - RPM
    - Fuel Solenoid
    - Reverse lights
    - Speed sensor
    - Water Temp

    I am yet to do:
    - AC (plug fits, have not tested/troubleshooted it yet, have also heard that I need to earth a wire or it will shut off on over temp or something, any one know what this is?)
    - Fuel sediment sensor (cant seem to find any thing about this in the Y61 manual(s), not sure if it is called something else)
    - Engine Error light (No engine management on my TD42, so need to disable this light somehow)

If I need to provide more info to help troubleshoot, please let me know.
I have been using the following Y61 manuals
    - Supplement III 3rd Revision (SM9E-Y61CG3)
    - Supplement V 1st Revision (SM1E-Y61EG1)

Any help on the above much appreciated.

    -Hurgh-

Had a quick look through the GU and GQ service manuals I have here, and whilst I am in no way an electrical guru I have noticed that the ZD30 alternator appears to have two wires go to the battery whilst the TD42 one only has a singular wire heading that way?
