Slightly off topic but why don't you change your car computer from 'klm/l' to 'l/100'.
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

I tried it for a bit, just didn't like it simply.
The klm/l seemed a bit more real time reactive so I could adjust my right foot if I was getting carried away.
Probably just the way my grey matter is wired.
I've just installed a Scangauge2 and setup LPH, that gives me the almost instantaneous feedback I need so maybe I'll switch the car computer over to l/100 and see when on a long cruise again.
    Cheers BruceR.

On the -ve Battery Terminal there is a Shunt assy that sends the smarts to the ECU
There is a grey plug immediately below the Shunt IE it is between the Battery and the Fuse Box.
Simply disconnect that plug (you may need to remove the terminal for ease of access).

You can put a small placcy bag over the plug or tape wrap it or whatever to stop dirt or corrosion happening if you wish.

Just get a battery pack/ jumpstart kit. Works for your vehicle and for others, weighs bugger all and is transferable between cars. Personally wouldn't go anywhere without it in the back (with cars with and without smart alternator).
