1989 Nissan safari (GQ/Y60) Rear Disk Brakes
Hi there,
I have a 1989 Y60 which has been cut down from a 5 door safari to a 2 door flat deck ute.
I'm in the process of getting back on the road. It's mostly ok except for some small things and I'd appreciate some help on one of these.
I need to remove the rear disc brake rotors because of wear. I'm having problems getting them to budge.
I've tried using two 8mm bolts, in the two threaded holes beside the wheel studs, to ease it off the axle frange, with some hammering, but no go.
I have thought of using heat on the rotor body but thought that might be risky.
Does any one have any suggestions.
Thanks,
mark.

I am sorted on this. No heat used. Sprayed CRC liberally in the back, in the 8mm release holes. Threaded in one 8mm bolts tight. With a 10mm drift punch, punched around each wheel stud. Released the 8mm bolt. More CRC. Tightened in 8mm again, taped again, tightened again, could see it moving ... . I found one threaded 8mm hole unusable because someone had drilled behind through the axle frange. A mystery why?
