Td42 Lower thermostat housing
Hey guys, like just about anyone else who has a TD42 my thermostat long bolt snapped. Not once, but bloody TWICE. First time was flush with the top of the lower housing, the second time was flush with the timing cover underneath. I had to give the lower housing a fair bit of work to get the bolt out, I was wondering whether it is pretty much a must to buy a new lower housing? Does the long bolt thread far up into the lower housing, or is the thread only into the timing case? It was hard to tell because the bolt was so shagged by the time I got it out (probably before too).
Along with that, there are three sensors screwed into the top of the lower housing, does anyone know what they generally are? The front two I got out fine, I'm pretty sure these were for the water temp sensor and maybe an earth? The back one basically crumbled into bits as soon as I touched it, though. It was the female side of a plastic plug.
Thanks guys.
