    Nord Lock Washers

Has anyone used these babies? I only learned of their existence yesterday.

I was at the bolt shop yesterday & wanting something better than nyloc nuts to secure the canopy on my Patrol. Nylocs have been ok, but have needed regular retightening, as have Nylocs + spring washers. Bolt shop said next step up was 'cone' nuts, but they didn't have any in the size/thread to suit the bolts I had (M12 metric fine/1.25 pitch/ high tensile 10.9) but mentioned the Nord Lock washers as being a step up from cone nuts. They had a demo, tighten a wing nut up to just finger tight & then try to undo. The effort needed to undo was quite impressive, so much so I bought 10 washers at $3.50 each! Have fitted all the new bolts today (replacing a mish mash of different bolts requiring several different spanners!) together with the Nord Lock washers & nylocs - fingers crossed.

Awesome Cuppa, i have had an ongoing issue with the after market rear sway bar link undoing and loosing the pin. Drives me bonkers. Nyloc just undoes itself over time and its gone. I will be chasing some of these up for sure. Thanks for posting it here.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

I think these are used on all our EWP's at work, where secure hydraulic ram's are bolted etc... So they must be rated well.
