    Sound insulation just for utes

Read heaps of threads for this but all about wagons.
Has anyone made their cabins quiet enough to have normal conversation?
Admittedly us older gentlemen? don't hear as well as we once did but I have upgraded the stereo and want to be able to hear it properly.
I would guess that a lot of our problem is the back of the cab where there is just paint and perhaps doors.
    Any suggestions?
At the end of the day, all you have is yourself and all you need is your friends (and in our case our Patrol)

I think it is just one of the joys of having a Ute and if you think the Nissan donks are bad for NVH you should try my Chev.

IMHO the issue is that your head and therefore your ears are only inches away from a huge sounding board IE the back of the cab.

Again only my opinion but I reckon that is the source of the majority of the noise so a couple of stiffeners and decent sound insulation would see a major improvement.
Would cost a fair bit to get a decent level of trim finish tho

Utes are great, heaters/aircon work a third as hard in our south winter region. Rear facing snow snorkel and a Chev too, musical bliss.
Do remember seeing a great thread on here where a bloke installed some small speaker tweater things up both L/R pillars inside with some aftermarket molds. Been thinking similar yet installing UHF speakers near there in front of my noggin to hear betterer :-)

Sounds great good mate, you’d be a wagon though, more room to boom?

Yeah... my HF speaker is on the B pillar by my right ear and my CB speaker is on my roof console by my left ear.

    Works well for me
