G'day all. Just introducing myself as I am new here... although I have been lurking forever. My name is Pete and have owned one 4 wheeled vehicle in my life... a GQ Nissan patrol TD42 naturally aspirated .. bog stock except for the stereo and heavy duty springs. I have always had motorbikes and the Troll fills my need to haul stuff around. I have owned the truck from 2001 and have just over 300,000 km of trouble free apart from BP ultimate fuel eating the fuel pump seals... and no end of trouble with neoprene bushes. Advice from the tropics is never use neoprene bushes. They are amazing but have a limited life before the heat gets to them and they disintegrate. Old school rubber all around now for some time and no dramas. I do all the maintenance and love this truck to bits. A great work horse... highly sought after here in the Top End because they are overengineered and the 4.2 diesel plods along forever. Two pics added... one from 2004 down the track on my pilgrimage to the olds farm in Nowra (young fella is now over 6 foot and smelly) .. and from a few weeks back.... still the dogs bollocks. Getting a major overhaul at the moment... all fluids, brakes, rebuilding the hubs and wheel bearings and giving the old girl a new coat of paint. Saving for an intercooled turbo and she will be good for another 300,000.
