    1989 Nissan Patrol wiring issue

    Hello, wiring issue.......
the other the day some thing went wrong, the only thing i have is headlight, reversing lights, gas gauge, anything that pugs into cigarette lighter, but nothing else, i have pulled out all fuses there all okay...there is a main box that sits slightly back from the motor that all the wiring connects up into Name of it i have no idea, but anyone when we went to lift that up and riggled it around everything started working....then we put it down and tried it a short time later we could get it to work again....it must be coming from the wires or the box....i have no idea whats going on please anyone had the same problem.

Hi Heather and welcome to the forum.

You may have a bad connection at one of your fusible links.

These are small coloured fuse wires and a prone to getting bad connections at there connectors.

They are located near the battery just follow the cable from the positive battery terminal and you should see them, there colours are Brown,Green and Black.

Have a look at the connectors are they clean or do they show signs of being heat affected? do the wiggle test, does it start working again?.

If these are ok I would say you would have a bad connection in one of those plugs you were talking about.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers Rodney
