They're Journos... they would be working on 4th hand reports, uneducated guesses and Tarot Cards and know absolutely sweet FA about what really happened.
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

    Again.

    And again.

    And again.

Anybody got any idea how to increase awareness of this danger? We do as much as possible on this forum but we would have contact with sub 1% of 4x4ers in Aus.

This issue needs public attention/education somehow in excess of this forum.

Too much to suggest snatch strap purchase restrictions?

I for one hate the things. Have only ever towed, winched, dug or drag chained people or myself out. Snatch straps just scare me.

What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal??

Ha! I feel exactly the same. Everytime the recovery 4wd is revving up and moving foward I cringe. I just visualise that whole
    "snap" and something slingshot across.

Scares me. There is so much force going on all at once.

For me snatching is last resort emergency recovery situation and I've never been in that position. Could only think justifiable on beach with rising tide threatening all other options.

Paper or sticker warning I'd think only as useful as a smoking kills labels on ciggy packs. Needs to be deeper education/information.

I have always had a cargo barrier...last line of defense...but yeah...I have never had to fully boost someone out before...its always been a gentle nudge. One step closer to compulsory 4wd training when purchasing a 4wd.

you don't need to own a 4wd to snatch someone but,,why should we they bear the cost.....

I might add I have never had to snatch anyone either, but I once seen a mate in deep trouble and they whacked in on thje towball, and looked at me like wtf..
if they see it when they buy it,maybe they might l;istenm when someone pulls em up on it
