Inlet size of Air Box

Gooday guys
What is the inlet size of the Air Box on a 2004 GU3 3.0 .
I am fitting a snorkel to the 2004 3.0 after selling my beloved 2003 4.2.
I believe the flanged elbow supplied with the kit can not be used and it is easier to fit a reducing piece of PVC pipe in its place. ????
Can I get away with out taking the Air Box and the Aux Battery out of the truck?

TJM are going to fit it as the Airbox has to come out to do the best job.

3 inch and I believe the airbox has to come out but its quite easy. A few bolts because the Snorkel inlet pipe has to come from the engine bay side then into the guard.

thank you for that info. I am have wrist problems so rather that getting into difficulties I elected to go to the pro's.
