    2nd battery

since i want to make this as hard as possible.... has anyone fitted a battery where the jack is on a GQ.
i have some ideas.... looking at a N70 battery half in there ( sorta along the car, not cross ways)
anywho was hoping for some ideas or if anyone has fitted a battery how, before i bust out the angle grinder.

yeah its gunna be tight, a box will be built over the wheel arch and to the door so you won't see it.
if its worth doin its worth over doin

Bloody tight mate and you would need good ventilation.

Not a bad spot though I guess, it will surely tick out though, go for it mate, get that grinder out...lol

ahh i don't have draws, and i carry big stuff in the back so draws are not going in. i've seen ppl mount 2 90ah in the gu's. i want to keep to a common size so its cheaper. the n70 i could swap with the main if i must.

looks like i'm out with the grinder and welder

Garett, one of my configs had 2 x 100a/h batteries mounted in a ply box on each side of the rear cargo area directly above the wheel well. This gave me 400a/h capacity and it worked well. The batteries were circa 100mm wide and approx 350 high x 400 long - bit sketchy as was a while ago, but another option to save cutting a hole. These were deep cycle agms used as back up power supplies. You can still get them.

This is the style but a bit bigger than the units I used.

Or maybe look at the Optima range - small and powerful?
