Fuel relay

Hey guys dont know if this is the page to post but just wondering if anyone knows if there’s a fuel pump relay in the engine bay of a gq patrol 89 no fuel to carby. Just stopped

i drive a diesel, but do carby models even have a electric fuel pump?, my old carby laser never did.

i did have trouble with a sticky needle and seat. resulted in no fuel in the bowl. filter bucket ? is there petrol in the tank? ( would not believe how many times i've seen this)
faulty pump? blocked filter?

not seen a carby patrol so just a few suggestions . someone is bound to correct me if i'm wrong. but i would of thought it would be a mechanical pump.

Mine has a fuel pump fuse under the dash so I am guessing it has to There’s no other way for the fuel to reach the carby otherwise. The fuse is good and Yeah full tank of fuel. it runs then it just dies could be wiring as well. Just weird how I was driving it the day before. Changed all the filters and all the spark plugs, coil, rotor and the dizzy cap. Got me stuffed now was just seeing if anyone new about a relay being in the engine bay?

have you confirmed that there is no fuel in the float bowl?...
if you spray some carby cleaner in it will it fire? if it wont start
if you pull the fuel line is there fuel pouring out when cranking? there should be something along the lines of 4 psi. (not sure but it should be about that)
if you can get to the pump checking voltage, also look for overheated wires.
i got relays next to my battery but mines diesel, might be there

I haven’t pulled the carby off. there’s no fuel when I crank it. It starts if I leave it for a bit and then dies so don’t know what that means.
Yeah the next thing I’ll do is check wiring. there’s 4 fuses near the battery just don’t which one it would be and if there’s one there.

FWIW a mate fixing our 88 TB42 with same symptoms mentioned above mate found it being fuel tank. Had let it sit too long in storage and “Orange Juice” fuel he mentioned has clagged up the tank. It unfortunately also stuffed its mechanical pump and also needed carby to be drilled out. Best of luck, hope yours is a quicker cheaper fix, Cheers!

if you pull the flooring up you should be able to get to the fuel pump check power and earth from there, or someone should be able to enlighten us to the whereabouts of the relay.

Ok well I’ll have to have a lil look in the fuel tank see what’s playing up down there. Otherwise there might be build up in that pump cheers guys Appreciate all the effort. any other questions I’ll know where to go 🤙🏻
