jack what do you think? What tyres did you have when you went up there?
Ah just saw this thread, yeap I had the Bridgestone Dueler D693 tyres on both the Patrol and the caravan on our trip. They never missed a beat, dropped then down to 26psi as soon as we left the bitumen and hit the Bloomfield track.
Just want to make it clear that we didn’t do the complete OTT, the van was to wide unfortunately. But we did plenty of Uturns (I think I hold the record for this with a caravan) and chicken tracks on it. Lots of water crossings and a heap of beach driving up Vrillya Point, we just dropped the pressure in the sand.
Conditions change every year but if they are in good condition you shouldn’t have any issues. Just drive to conditions and don’t rush.
Enjoy the trip, I’d love to do it again.
Cheers
Jack

Thanks for the info guys, I've got a good compressor and the tyres only have 14k on them. Sounds like they'll be OK, we don't intend doing the hard sections on any track.
Lucky buggars with your extra time, we've got 4 weeks heading out of Brisbane.
Cheers,
Shane
