    Back pain

For those of us there may be an answer to yor back pain . Ill be the first to try it out next week some time.
Its a load bearing MRI, as you know most MRI you lie down ,but that takes pressure off everything.
Getting it done standing up just might be the answer some of us seek, the MRI is in Epping Vic, I cant
wait. At least it might get some of us off the pills and get some sort of normallity back in our lives
JUst thought Id let you know its out there so ask for a referal
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

That is a simple idea which makes a lot of sense. After numerous CT scans and X rays, an MRI was the only method they could see what was going on for me.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

Be interesting to know how it goes.
Had all the X-rays, CTs, MRIs.
This may be the answer to sorting out some stuff to make life easier.
    Cheers,

    Evo

my nerve damage was not detectable by either MRI or CT scan but I wonder with this new tech if it would , trouble for me is it's not something they can fix without doing more damage.

Sounds excellent John mate, we’re all hoping for the best for you!
Standard MRI was what thankfully finally found my squished nerves too. Unfortunately I’m not allowed to have any more MRI’s as the screws and plate inside now don’t appreciate magnets anymore!

Hope it helps work out what they can do for you John. You have been through a lot with your back and would be great to see some new ideas come out of this.

Did not know you had back problems to Mark, what have you had done with the screws and plate?

I have suffered from back pain too since I was about 13 years old, I was told the cartlidge never formed properly between L2 and L3 vertebra which has allowed movement causing severe pinched nerves and torn muscles.
In later years I have relied on anti inflammatories and painkillers to cope with the pain but they were really screwing up my stomach so gave them up about a year ago.
Now I have back pain every day with Sciatica down my right led and I am trying to deal with it without tablets but it is not easy.
I have been told that I will probably need a back fusion operation at some time but do not like the idea of losing the mobility in my lower back but as I get older I probably will have to get it done.
I am sure I am not suffering any near as much as some on here like Threedogs, Mudnut and Evo and I really feel for you guys.

Epworth Hospital over here in Richmond were amazing mate! C5-6 disc was blown out pressing against my spinal cord so they removed it/caged it/fused it. The majority of pain though down my right side/arm was from arthritis bone growth choking nerves deep inside. They gave all that a grinding back whilst in there and instant relief from the moment I woke!

Not too far over the hill as they say mate. Doc reckons the screws held in really good, he was happy, TBH never really noticed them being slotted, what does that do, better grip?
