SWB GQ Body Swap - Looking for replacement
Gday,
Looking for a SWB GQ body to perform a body swap.
Our ol’ family Nissan has cancer... thought about repairing but would prefer a clean start / new life by trying to source another body.
Mainly in need of a replacement shell. Current body has rust in floor, door sils and firewall.
Let me know if you can help out.
Look forward to posting photos of the project.
Cheers
Luke

Legendary
Hey mate I recently did a body swap last winter on my GQ lwb. Pretty much same situation had rust throughout, considered repair but sourcing a clean rust free body is a much better option. I sourced mine through patrolapart, was lucky got a petty much perfect cab with no rust whatsoever and was pretty reasonable really. I reckon give them a call see what they've got. Don't regret doing it was a heap of fun and now have a nice fresh GQ, there's a thread on here too if you want some info. . .

Picked up a roller; gonna now transfer all the running gear: engine, transmission, exhaust, shocks etc swap as well as replace any panels to build up the best of both rigs! Finally a respray in metal/silver colour to keep the original theme going! Will keep ya posted on the build

Found some rust in the cowl panel.... had mud in there which has probably been there for ages from previous owners offroading...
Wondering if you reckon it’s worth taking to a rust repair shop and see if I can get a replacement panel? The bottom of the cowl has pinholes and leaked into the cab. I managed to clean it out as best I could then spray a lot of rust treatment, big it up with fibreglass filler, then bitumen paint and tape to try prevent water getting in there when it rains. But ultimately I expect if I don’t replace the steel it will slowly continue and might start making it’s way down the firewall.
Im not precious with this body so would swap it again in future but ideally I’d like to get this body to be rust free.
Other than cowl panel there is nearly no rust.
