cheap TD42 alternator (with vacuum) off ebay? worth it?
yes, I am aware of the old saying of you get what you pay for... but when I look at ebay I see 80A TD42 alternators with vacuum pump for $120 delivered, whereas the ones from Auto8, etc are $350+
has anyone else bought a cheap ebay alternator for TD42 with vacuum in the $120-150 range? are they worth it? any pitfalls?
thanks

Legendary
One thing I will tell you about auto 8 is their guarantee is about five years just keep the receipt, given how much you rely on an alternator don't risk it .

Patrol God
I can't comment on the quality of the Ebay unit, but after having to replace my alternator, I found there are alternators, then there are alternators. Being such a vital component I recommend buying from a reputable auto elec or big name store. I do like the warranty offered by auto 8.
