    [VIC] 1993 GQ Cab chassis (coilx4) $3000

[VIC] 1993 GQ Cab chassis (coil)

Item for sale: Nissan Patrol GQ TD42 Cab chassis, coil sprung, with steel/canvas canopy set up for camping. Montrose, NE Melbourne outskirts, near Mt Dandenong.

Price: $3000 neg. Roof-top tent and awning in pics not included in price, nor the camping gear. Just the vehicle with homemade platform in the tray.

    Odo: 228407

    Condition: Fair

Details: Project car. Selling as is, no RWC, WA rego until mid May. Recently drove from Broome to Melbourne. Have owned since Jan 2011, driven regularly on Cable Beach but rinsed off most times. No hardcore 4wding, just corrugations, mostly before current shocks. Runs now, using it to drive to work, but needs some work. Invoices for all previous work kept.

Body: Rust on roof and bonnet, mostly light, some small thicker patches. Rust sanded back and treated with rust-slower, topped with an ill-advised home paint job to disguise rust, paint is thin and will be easy to remove. No major damage to panels, some small dents.

Chassis, suspension and steering: Some rust, light surface stuff, but according to a few mechanics, good considering the car's age and the fact that it's been on the beach. All bushes replaced in last 3 years. New shocks, front are Monroe, rear Tough Dog. Front swivel hubs will need doing, especially the left, as it is leaking substantial amounts of grease. Power-steering pump seals replaced in last two years.

Engine and fuel: Runs well, starts easily. Used 2-3 L of oil in the drive from Broome to Melbourne (6500km), no excessive smoke on start up or under load. Long-range aftermarket ~140L fuel tank. Reconned fuel injection pump installed 2013.

Drivetrain: Gearbox and clutch are original parts, so no idea how long they've got, work fine now, although into 2nd and 3rd gears can be sticky after long distances (say 300+km), no problems though driving to and from work (30 km each way).

Electrics: New alternator installed 2014, dual battery set-up (starter battery is new) with low voltage plug on rear passenger side cab panel. Some bodgy home-electrics done by previous owner, could do with a tidy up.

Misc: Good air-con regassed 2014, steel and canvas canopy on tray with homemade plywood platform that has storage underneath. New tyres, BFG All-terrains on front that have done ~8000km, chinese brand Goodride A/T on rear, ~3000km, say 10-15% wear. Wired-in compressor under driver's seat. Electric trailer brake done by previous owner.

I'm not on the internet much, so please call or text 0409407379 if interested. Inspections welcome.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
