GU 6+ Gearbox Exhaust Bracket
have a question about the gearbox mounted exhaust hanger. Mine is currently split nearly all the way through on the gearbox end (i found this pic on images and drew on it, imagine the rest is completely intact). Do i need to have this bracket, and if i do, what is the part called? Nissan have no idea what i'm talking about and i cannot find anything OEM online. Cheers

Advanced
Have you tried looking for it in the Manual? Could be worth a shot and might give you the part number.

Depends which manual, Gregory's have no mention of it. Owners manual nil by, the Nissan workshop manual i have a copy of only gives me the torque specs for the bolts that it attaches too and just points out that its a bracket.
Is there another manual that i don't have yet?

Legendary
If you have an aftermarket exhaust, especially the Beaudesert Exhaust apparently, they break a fair bit.
Mine did, and I was up in Queensland with no tools, so I went to an exhaust specialist. I was told that the bracket it is not required if the exhaust is bolted at the engine block, and back at the muffler

I have a DEA (installed when I purchased the vehicle) and it does not have a bracket on the gearbox. There appears to be a hanger on the exhaust but not connected. I would say even if it is not needed. if you do a lot of offroad touring or 4x4ing it would be better to have it on there. IMHO

Hey lads,
Internet and phones went down (thanks telstra)
So the bracket ended up shearing off and wedged itself in the rubber of the mount, removed so damn quick so I wouldn't have to replace a mount too.
Since then the exhaust has an extreme rattle under certain situations (mostly deceleration down hill or on a certain angle on a road at idle)
Nissan reckon its $76 to replace and the part they showed me has way more meat in it so must've been a common problem for them
Just going to replace the thing and hope for the best.
Hope this helps anyone else who runs into this

Just saw this thread. Yeah they made and upgraded version, I've had it for three years so far and it hasn't broken....
