Replacement AM/FM radio antenna for 1997 GQ

I have pulled out my second motorised am/fm radio antenna as I am a slow learner and have broken the mast again. I want a spring load manual telescopic that will fit directly where the motorised on sits. Does anyone know where i can buy one? The base needs to have the sloped plastic cup fitting that mates with the guard - I am wondering if the DX variant of the GQ patrol came out with a manual antenna? Failing that I will have to go with a bullbar mount I think, but its getting a bit crowded up there!

I've only broken one Phil , never replaced it that's why but if I was going to I think I'd go for the bulbar mount jobbies.

Think about installing a mast one Phil. Find a spot for it. I have a $45 GME one mounted on the bullbar and get incredible reception miles from nowhere now.

Jaysee, only thing that worries me is the profile of the wire on the outside of the fibreglass stick.

I am looking at a bullbar mount I reckon and have my eye on one of these , but need to contact the vendor to find out which is the more sensitive.

Its a bit of coin plus the mount, for something that 'might' get turned on 5 times a year.

    Decisions,. decisions.....

    Thanks for the reply also.

Hodge, do you have a link or part number by any chance?

Yeah, I am simply blind to these things once I get into the bush and the other whips handle the brush without issue. getting expensive now for my in-attention.

Sure do mate. Sits neatly in the second bull bar aerial slot.

Thanks everyone who replied. I have gone with the cheaper of the 2 ZCG antennas. The only difference is the more expensive one has an anodised black finish instead of the chrome spring - which I can paint anyway. I have other ZCG antennas and they are brilliant performers, so hope this one follows in the same vein. Now need to plug the hole where the old antenna used to sit in the guard - might try a big rubber grommet.
