One thing to watch doing this tho... do you have a Turbo Timer fitted?
Yes, the underbonnet temps will be way lower but the Turbo will run significantly hotter and spike on shutdown.
The heat is still being generated but more is now being held in the Turbo and only dumped via the exhaust.
It will be important to idle down the engine esp if it has been on load before you switch off

yeh TET I usually let it idle for 2 minutes or so before switching off.
