Buy a second hand bull bar off Facebook for under $700. That would be expensive. My factory intercooler is holding 27psi with 270k on it. It's not efficient but it holds pressure.
If the car is untouched from factory the first thing I would do in Melbourne after changing the oil is put in on the Dyno and have it tuned before you drive it back. You will have to have a manual boost controller fitted (I have a brand new one I could sell you) and fit an exhaust temp gauge and boost gauge. You will drive on the Dyno with probably 65kw and drive off with at least 85kw and could be up to 95kw. It will make the next year so much better. I recommend booking it into DieselTec for this work. No gimmicks. No BS. Just sorted at the start.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
