Exhaust and Snorkel advice please?
Hi guys
I am looking at getting a Safari snorkel for my ute. Its a Td42 n/a blacktop. There are two options though and I am a little confused as to what to do. One is to discard the precleaner and the other is to retain the precleaner. What d you guys reckon would be the best one to get for me? I'm not fitting a turbo or anything and am just going to put a 2.5" 'zorst and tune it up.
The exhaust matter: I've found an almost brand new 2.5" exhaust and extractors on Gumtree off a 4.2 petrol leaf sprung ute. Upon looking at exhausts I have found that the petrol and diesel 4.2's are the same systems. My question is, do the exhausts on leaf sprung and coil sprung utes take a different route underneath the car? Would it fit my coil cab?
Cheers

Probably keep the pre cleaner for now if you can I would think. Unless is has to go when the snorkel is fitted. As or the pipe. I would ring a exhaust shop and ask them. Id say the are the same, the only difference would be the section where it bends over the diff. It may be shaped differently there.

if you have scrub rails you may have to stick to the snorkel that keeps the pre filter. i've got the one that discards the pre filter when i ordered it i was asked if i had scrub rails, so i presume there might be a space issue.
i also got 2nd hand extractors to the original exhaust cos i'm a tight a.... i did do some port matching on it and it opens up the revs a little and a bit smoother idle.
if its worth doin its worth over doin
