Legendary
From what I have read on here, probably the idler pulley and it needs to be replaced with a genuine one. Over the years several members have posted about fitting new bearings and after market idler pulleys and it seem this may be where you have to go genuine.

Cheers 4bye. Any idea on costs associated. Don't want to waste to much as will probably get rid of the old girl soon.

Genuine belt, or the Gates Branded equivalent, and genuine tensioners are the only way to go. Even then they dont last for ever. Its just a poor design on Nissan behalf.
4bye4 is very lucky to not have had this very annoying issue.
If your gonna sell it, either rub some chalk on the ribs of the belt until to sell it, or just buy the cheapest you can get. OEM tensioner is maybe $200, even more, haven't looked for a while sorry. And the OEM belt is maybe $60???
