GQ Engine Bay Scraping Noise
G'day guys,
I had not been actively driving my 1990 gq for a while. I took it for a drive last week and again today and noted a discernible scraping/scratching/grinding noise in the engine bay. As it is difficult to describe, I posted a YouTube video to try and assist. I'm fairly sure that the noise is coming from the fan belt/pulley region. I had a look and couldn't see anything physically scraping against the engine block or belts.
The scraping noise appears in the video between the approximate times of 0:06-0:11 and 0:42-0:45. Apologies for the noise from the wind, garage doors were open.
If anyone has had similar issues or may know a potential issue, please let me know your thoughts.

I had a similar noise once for about a minute and I suspect it's the idler for the fan belt , it's right down the bottom in a shit of a spot and you have to remove a bash plate to get to it .
Mine has only done it once so I never worked it out for sure but I know the idler needs replacing .

Thank you for the response. You are exactly right. A mechanic mate of mine down the road got his stethoscope out and said that it was definitely the idler pulley. Allegedly possible to replace without removing the bash plate but will find out tomorrow.

Definitely a squeeze. Nearly impossible. Does anybody know what the thread size is? Estimated M10x1.5 but seems impossible information to find.
