Is this a normal or a problem? (Pics)
Both sides
The ball joints are dry to the touch as is the 'stained' dirt.
Normal, something to keep an eye on or something needing work now?
My gut feeling suggests it's not a big deal & to just keep an eye on it whilst we tour Tassie over the summer & if it gets worse to get it fixed before we cross the Western deserts next year. What say you?

Can’t really help if it’s a big problem but I’d be cleaning it all up with some degreaser and a brush. That way you have a better judge on how long it takes to seep out.

Does it smell, like grease or oil. If too much grease has been added to the bearings and the like it can seep out when hot and is not such a problem. If it smells like diff oil, you have a leaking axle seal and this should be dealt with, as it can dilute the grease and destroy its effectiveness.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

Mines twice that bad on the GQ and I'm not worried yet but probably should get it done before the cape and Kimberly trip next year .
Mine started to leak a bit after the wheel bearing was done and I'm sure it's grease , don't clean it off leave it just in case you upset the seal would be my advice .

No smell that I could detect. Pretty sure I'd pick a diff oil smell. Car has been used a lot harder over the past 3 or 4 months than in all the time I've had it. Little doubt that the hubs have run hotter during this time. Also running with hubs locked for weeks at a time. It is possible I over did the grease a bit, but it was a while ago so can't be sure.

Yep. Since you know how bad diff oil pongs, it should be. OK. Mine has been weeping on and off for 3 years or more.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

same as above - if it is dry to touch, then clean it up completely, and have a look every 2nd day
if it is starting to weep - then worry about it
but it looks ok, so no stress yet
