    What's this?

    Guys,
Just purchased a dash fascia panel for my 2014 Y61 to have covered in Kevlar film to replace my scratched ( by dog ) original. While in the process I noticed some small "vent slots" below the rear locker switch. Anyone know what it's for, I'm curious?

On the pic of the rear of the panel you can see a hollow "tube shape", which is the rear of the small "vent slots". It looks like it's there for something to fit into, although I could be wrong. No mention of it in the hand book that came with the vehicle. Any ideas?

    I'm with Maxhead...

It is the air inlet for the Cabin Sensor for the A/C amplifier (if fitted)
AFAIK the vent cutouts and the placcy tube adapter (Aspirator) are on all Y61's from '99 onwards (they are on my 99 ST at least)

Page HA 127 of the Service Manual has piccys and the following text...
    In-vehicle Sensor
    COMPONENT DESCRIPTION
In-vehicle sensor The in-vehicle sensor is located on instrument lower panel. It converts variations in temperature of compartment air drawn from the aspirator into a resistance value. It is then input into the auto amplifier.

I have used it as a mount for warning beepers in the past for my own version of headlight reminder.

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

I can't help either but in my old gu I removed it and ran my hands free phone cradle cables through it. No longer relevant if you have Bluetooth though.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
