    Auto dipstick wrong length

Had my trans serviced and flushed today. All good except the pharkin dipstick is too bloody long! Apparently from factory that way. He showed me an alert about them. Mine is the wire rope type. Apparently the solid steel are fine. Normal driving isn’t an issue but 4wding will cause the trans to be starved of fluid. Fella at works has a 4.5 with the solid dipstick assuming the trans are the same it’s a lot shorter.

Ouch , makes me wonder which other models are affected , I know the engine oil dipstick was shortened in the GU to help prevent grenading.

Strange that it hasn't already been corrected. That could be your overheating problem. A quick fix would be to engrave the proper fill line on yours.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.
