Gday and thanks
Hey all, names Sarky.
I had a gq for many years and just updated to a 2011 gu dx.
I decided to join this awesome group because I知 just a tad out of my depth with these crd engines.
Anyway I値l start searching.
Basically, after having the airbag replaced, Nissan reckon the belt tensioner is kaput.
Only 50k on the clock. Plus an oil leak around the turbo.
If anyone wants to steer me in the right direction I壇 much appreciate it.
Till then, I値l be scrolling.
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum mate.
As I lay there looking up, taking in the spectacular view that was the night sky and the multitude of stars I asked myself, where did my tent go?

G'day mate and welcome to the forum. Belt tensioner - I've seen a few posts about them on here so yea I guess they have a bit of a reputation. The main thing seems to be to replace them with geniune as after market don't seem to be the best. This is only what I have read here as I have never had one go.
Re the turbo oil leak. This needs to be identified as it could be a minor issue or a warning of a major problem in the making. Either yourself or get an experienced mechanic to identify exactly where and what is leaking. Oil can collect in the intercooler and leak out or it can happen just because its overfull of oil. But, it could also be an indication of the entire turbo starting to fail. It could also be coming from somewhere else and running to that position. It really needs to be identified.
Cheers Tony
