Who does your servicing? I bet that is check tension only. Maybe decrease or repack. I'd be surprise if they where replacing at 40k intervals.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.

Yeah sorry mate. It will be check tension only and that will literally be check front wheel for wobble as they walk passed it on the hoist. Tick a box for sure.

Hmmm I would ask them to clarify what they are doing to be honest mate. It's reasonable. Changing wheel bearings every 40thou seems like over servicing to me. Plenty of people driving around on 250,000km old bearings.
Also replacing wheel bearings alone would add at least $300 to any service! Probably $400.

You can use generic bearings from NTN, Koyo... all Japan brands.
Front:
King Pin Bearings #30304
Wheel Bearing: Internal # 33110 / External # LM501349 / Retainers: NJ879 and NJ763.
I got mines for less than $150.
