For Sale Bilstein B6 Off Road Mono Tube Gas shocks - $450. Front F4-B46-2159-HO (B46-1266C) / Rear F4-BE5-C542-M1 (B46-1267LT). Had these shocks on GU 2008 CRD Wagon with Dobinson 2" lift HD coil springs. The shocks have done less than a 3000km. These shocks out of the box are terrific for gravel and sealed roads. Superb handling/control but I found them a bit firm on heavy corrugations. Had them re-valved at Sydney Shocks and did approx 1000km after rebuild. Re-valving resulted in a slightly softer ride, handling and control remained great and there was a noticeable improvement on dirt especially on rutted corners as the original valving caused the vehicle to skip across the ruts (loose footing /lack of control). The HD springs probably contributed as well (unladen). Re-valving gave F/R shocks a reduction in both rebound and compression forces. Front – Rebound/Compression 15%. Rear - Rebound 20% & Compression 5%.
If I didn't spend majority of time driving rural dirt roads (is where I live) they would be great, so now I run Koni 88s. Both are good shocks, but saying that some say the Koni are too bouncy (each to their own).
