    TD4.2 2003 Engine management light help please

    Hi all I have a 2003 series 3 td4.2 my engine management light is on the dash I have given it a service and checked the fuel float (as this hasnt been plugged in for awhle now) need help to fix this issue has it happened to any body else and how can it b fixed please

    If you have a Super Cheap auto nearby they should have a reader to plug into the console port and see what the error is. I think they charge a small fee for this.... Or most decent workshops should have one too. Thats the only way of knowing why the CEL is illuminated.

    There isnt a lot that will throw the light on the td42ti. WIF sensor, timing control solenoid, sometimes the tps and needle lift sensor can as well.

    thanks mate what/where are the "WIF sensor" and tps and needle lify sensor" please

    WIF= water in fuel sensor which screws into your fuel filter. TPS is on the top of the injector pump. Timing control solenoid is on the bottom of the injector pump. Needle lift sensor is on #1 injector. Just trace all witing checking for breaks and connections. Also check your earths are in good condition.

    have checked all of these but not earth problem all plugs are in good condition is there anyway to check the sensors to see if they are faulty at all?
