That's around 17l/100km. About the same as I was getting on a big trip west last year. Fully loaded. Also 3" exhaust, snorkel and remap. Similar around town. Mine is newer. 2014. Only 30000km on it.
I went on a mission to bring it down some.
One thing really helped - I took it back to Roo Systems (who did the remap) and they put a Dawes Valve in to prevent over-boost.
At the same time I changed to a K&N Filter - very lightly oiled (don't rain hate down on me for that!).
I have also recently changed to a Cobra Air Intake head and removed 2 of the gauze things in the intake. I figured more air-flow would improve economy.

All of this has had a massive impact.
I'm now regularly getting around 14.5l/100km. I even ticked it under 14 on may last big trip West. So on my recent 12000km trip - that's 1740l of fuel used instead of 2040l. Or a saving of around $500.

    Your mileage may vary!
    :-)

I have an 08 with 110,000Km on it, 3" exhaust and snorkle but no chip/remap and no Dawes.
I get around 13.5l/100km when not towing and around 15 when towing.

02 model no chip no snorkel but 3" exhaust , not sure of exact figure but it has to be 17+ litres per hundred .

Damn you guys get some rough figures. My old mans 03 zd30 with 500,000kms gets 10-11L/100km, always fully loaded with his paint gear everywhere, ladders and crap on the roof, plus winch 33's, lift etc.

Never tuned, nor remapped, no anti grenade stuff. He just cruises along, never puts the foot down hard. Even towing his 6m twin hull fibreglass boat he gets like 12L/100km... Makes me jealous.

    Thanks guys for responding
When they did the remap they blocked the egr , also went from 66kw at the rear wheels to 101kw
I think 500klm to 85lt tank is shit , when my son has a Gu ute big canopy and full of tools and he gets 600klms around town
I will talk to the tuning guys see what they say about daws valves ect ,

I've been at this game for a while now with mine.. started off with 500km/80L (16L/100km) around town.

I've read hundreds of posts and articles, done just about every mod under the sun that could potentially reduce the consumption (snorkel, needle valve, egr block, remap, 3" exhaust, maf clean..) and have managed to bring it only slightly down 15l/100km.
I've not given up yet and still got a few things to try, which is meant to improve it again slightly, such as the air box mod.
But having said all this, I now drive the car how I like.. slow/normal/hard, OD on/off, and makes little difference to fuel consumption.. I still get my 15l/100km..
The biggest difference I've noticed is on country roads. Where I used to only get 14L/100km, I'm now getting 12.9L/100km or 620km/80L... and this is with the car fully loaded, overtaking at will, up/down hills.. So I've learnt to live with it around town, but still hopeful to reduce it further.

...forgot to mention, swapped the fuel filter at 70k, it feels like it made a small improvement... but need a few more tanks around town to be sure.
