Have just landed in Broome after doing the Gibb and have got a radiator that seems full of super fine dust (aka brown sludge... probably the consistebcy of warm honey).
I've rung everyone in town to see if they can flush it out but they are all busy.
So I rang my mechanic back home and his suggestions were either:
1) remove bottom hose and drain then fill with water then run for a bit then drain. Repeat a few times.
2) remove bottom hose and drain, connect bottom hose back up and remove top hose and run the car while continually running water into the top of the radiator (from a hose for example). Thereby running water through the whole system and dumping it straight out the top hose until clean.
I'm perfectly happy doing either of these, but I've never read online either of these suggestions as a solution for changing coolant.
Wondering if anyone has any thoughts if those ideas are going to work?
