Kaymar rear bar
G'day all,
Quick question that I can't ask ARB on a sunday arvo. I'm looking at buying a secondhand kaymar rear wheel bar off a friend. It's off of a 2007 GU and mine is a 2009 GU. I'm fairly sure it'll be fine but the question is but...will it definitely fit my car?
Cheers

I've been to the factory opening in Lilydale years ago, Rob gave me the tour.
very well made bit of kit. Check tow rating it could cause issues.
Had a mate snap one in half towing a van in the out back
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

Holy moley, never heard of a Kaymar bar failing. I have had two and no issues. What was he towing and what broke do you know?

In spec caravan towed with a new V8 diesel troopy,
something about them not having a tow rating or such
Snapped after he went over a railway line [dip] in outbackSA

I am shocked, would have thought the bar would be rated, and as such would have some factor of safety to cope with this sort of loading condition. What was the outcome - did it get replaced or repaired by the manufacturer?

Nup he Knew Rob as well ,Dave just removed the bar beefed it up properly
sold the lot and brought a 200s. Check with Kaymar but sure they had no towball rating
8yrs ago, something along those lines.
EDIT Dave only noticed when he was sitting having a cup of tea waiting for dinner to be cooked
looked across and thought shit it shouldn't be sitting on that angle. and he was right both gussests
each side were only tacked and not welded, might be half the problem right there, lol

Cheers guys, picked it up last night, gonna send it in to get reinforced and powder coated. Get myself a Kaymar rear bar + 2 wheel carriers + get it looking good as new all for $1,300. Can't argue with that.
